The Manila Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit will close roads and implement rerouting of vehicles in some parts of Manila on June 12 for the celebration of the Philippines’ 121st Independence Day.

The northbound and southbound lanes of Roxas Boulevard, from Katigbak Drive to President Quirino Avenue, and its service road from TM Kalaw Avenue to President Quirino Avenue will be closed to traffic starting 5 a.m. on June 12.

All light vehicles traveling on Bonifacio Drive intending to use the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard should turn left at P. Burgos and turn right at Ma. Orosa, or go straight to Finance Road to their point of destination.

Vehicles coming from the westbound lane of Kalaw Avenue intending to use the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard should turn left to MH Del Pilar to their point of destination.

All vehicles planning to use the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard should turn right at President Quirino to their point of destination.

MPD public information chief Lt. Col. Carlo Manuel said trucks would also not be allowed to enter Roxas Boulevard, from the corner of President Quirino Avenue to Katigbak Drive, Bonifacio Drive from Anda Circle to Katigbak Drive and President Quirino Avenue Extension starting 5 a.m. on Wednesday.

All trucks coming from Bonifacio Drive intending to use the southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard should take the roundabout of Anda Circle, head north to R10, turn right to Capulong, and then take the south truck route to their point of destination.

Trucks intending to pass through the northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard should turn right to President Quirino Avenue to their point of destination.

All trailer trucks intending to use President Quirino Avenue Extension to UN Avenue must go straight to President Quirino Avenue and then to Nagtahan to point of destination.

“Actual closing and opening of affected roads will be based on actual traffic situation. Flying of aerial drones is strictly prohibited over the vicinity of United States Embassy and at events area,” Manuel said.
