Makati students top regional academic skills test
Students from Grades 3 to 10 in Makati City have proven their academic excellence after topping the regional Test of Functional Academic Skills (TOFAS) administration from February 20 to 24, 2023. The result of the assessment revealed that the students from Makati received the highest passing rates in Mathematics among 16 divisions in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Mayor Abby Binay expressed her pride in the students' achievements, stating that it reflects the city's commitment to provide quality education to its youth. TOFAS is a free international basic academic ability test that aims to help students evaluate and compare their essential academic ability on a global scale while identifying areas for improvement.
The City of Makati has always placed a high value on education and has continuously worked towards enhancing the quality of learning in its schools. The city government has implemented various initiatives, such as providing free school supplies and uniforms, constructing new school buildings, and offering scholarship programs to deserving students, among others.
