Makati taps computer program to choose vaccine brand
The city government of Makati is using a unique randomizer computer program for the brand of COVID-19 vaccine that will be given to its residents, according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
Lawyer “Don” Camiña, Makati City spokesperson, said residents may decline the brand randomly assigned to them should they find it not to their liking.
“We believe that this is the best way para patas lahat and given equal opportunity sa mga available vaccines,” he said
“Pwedeng (They may) decline but we won’t know when (their) next schedule (will be),” he added.
Because of the still limited supply of the vaccines, Camiña said the brands in the random computer program are also limited.
“We are using a randomizer computer program depending on the available brands at the time in the [vaccination] site,” he said.
Health experts have urged the public not to be picky with the brand of vaccine as all of them are effective against COVID-19.
President Duterte had earlier appealed to the public not to be choosy with the vaccine brands for the country to achieve herd immunity.
