As the government expands the vaccination program to other priority sectors, Makati's local government has imposed the standardization of vaccination sites and registration protocols for business establishments and commercial centers in the city, according to a report by Philippine News Agency.

In a statement on Friday, Mayor Abby Binay said the city government will require private firms to register their vaccination sites to make sure they will meet the health standards set by the Department of Health (DOH).

“We anticipate the private sector to put up their own vaccination sites for employees with the imminent arrival of vaccines they purchased. As early as now, we have laid down the guidelines to make sure that these facilities will meet the standards set by the national government,” she said.

The City Council approved City Ordinance No. 2021-094, also known as the COVID-19 Vaccination Site Standardization Protocol and Registration Process.

Binay said the ordinance adopted the provisions of the National Deployment and Vaccination Plan for Covid-19, spearheaded by the DOH in collaboration with the National Task Force Against Covid-19 and other government agencies.

The mayor directed the private sector to closely collaborate with the city government in implementing their vaccination plans.

"We call on our friends from the private sector to work with us in achieving our goal of vaccinating all Makatizens, including employees and workers who live elsewhere," she said. We want to make sure that everyone in the city is fully protected and safe against the Covid-19 virus in the months and years to come," Binay said

Under the ordinance, all business owners who wish to register their vaccination facilities, must submit requirements to the Office of the City Administrator and provide contact information.

The Makati Covid-19 Vaccination Site Quality Assurance Team will then review the submitted documents.

The team is also tasked to recommend the approval of the application or present its review findings and request for other requirements from the applicant, based on the findings.

Further, the city government is set to open the registration for employees belonging to the A4 category, or the economic front-liners and uniformed personnel vaccination priority.

The business establishments should register through the website and submit complete list of employees up for vaccination.

Makati has initially allotted PHP1 billion for the procurement of the vaccines, to be given free to all residents and non-residents but working in the city.

The local government-procured vaccines through a tripartite agreement are expected to arrive in July.

To date, Makati has administered over 50,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines donated by the national government.

The government is, likewise, set to hold a symbolic vaccination rollout for the A4 priority group on June 7.

More than five million in the government's priority groups have been vaccinated nationwide so far.
