Makati places CCTV cameras in 27 public schools
Makati Mayor Abby Binay said the city government, through its Department of Engineering and Public Works (DEPW), has installed around 1,176 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras in 27 public schools in the city.
The mayor said the installation of CCTV cameras in the said schools aims to improve security measures and ensure the safety of the students inside the school premises.
“The CCTV cameras have been installed in strategic parts of the school premises to ensure the safety and protection of students. Being a second home to them, the schools should be able to make them feel safe while learning,” Mayor Abby said.
The mayor said the CCTV cameras are located at the entrance and exit gates of the schools and other strategic locations so that security personnel can easily monitor any inappropriate or illegal activities inside the school premises and on its perimeter areas.
