Makati highlights green initiatives
Mayor Abby Binay presented the City of Makati's green and sustainable initiatives during the Sustainable Cities Dialogue hosted by the British Embassy. The event aimed to encourage local leaders to collaborate and share their best practices in promoting sustainable development.
Mayor Binay highlighted the city's various programs and policies geared towards sustainable and eco-friendly development. She emphasized the importance of local leaders in championing climate and sustainability efforts, and how their actions have a significant impact on their communities.
The Mayor also shared that Makati City is implementing various initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint and promote sustainable practices. These include the Makati Green Building Code, which sets standards for energy efficiency and environmental sustainability in buildings, and the Makati Bike Share Program, which promotes eco-friendly transportation.
Mayor Binay also discussed the city's ongoing efforts to address the challenges of waste management and air quality, and how the city is continuously exploring new ways to promote sustainable development and improve the quality of life for its residents.
The Sustainable Cities Dialogue provided an opportunity for local leaders to exchange ideas and learn from each other's experiences in promoting sustainability. Mayor Binay's presentation showcased the City of Makati's commitment to green and sustainable development and highlighted the important role that local leaders play in achieving this goal.
