Makati fetes new centenarians

Makati fetes new centenarians

Makati Mayor Abby Binay awarded new centenarian Dolores Rodriguez with a P100,000 cash gift, a plaque of recognition, and a bouquet of flowers during a visit to the latter’s home in Barangay West Rembo on Thursday.

Rodriguez is one of the newest centenarians to be recognized by the city government.

She was born on September 15, 1918. Her marriage to the late Roman Rodriguez was blessed with 10 children.

Her family has been residing in Makati since 1985 and she has been a Blu Card member since January 15, 2004.

The other new centenarian is Balbina Agamata of Barangay San Antonio.

She got married at the age of 19 to the late Jovito Aliggayu with whom she had six children.

Agamata has been a Blu Card member since February 11, 2004.

To date, 57 centenarians have been awarded with P100,000 cash gift since 2012, following the passage of City Ordinance No. 2012-099.
