Binay bares major infrastructure projects for second term
Makati Mayor Abby Binay on Thursday gave the business community a preview of key projects the city government planned to implement in the next three years to fast-track the city’s digital transformation and recognition as a Smart City.
Speaking at a luncheon meeting of the Rotary Club of Manila at the New World Hotel, Binay also revealed initiatives aimed at improving ease of doing business in the city and promoting transparency.
Major infrastructure projects in the pipeline include a building complex integrating the central offices of the police, fire, and public safety departments, a separate building for the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and its facilities, and another for the DRRM Academy.
Now on her second term, Binay underscored the far-reaching impact of the Makati Subway, which she called her legacy project.
She said the Philippines’ first subway would be a game-changer and a catalyst for inclusive and sustainable economic growth and social progress.
