Makati distributes laptops to public school teachers

Makati Mayor Abby Binay handed over a brand new laptop with accessories to one of the newly-hired teachers of Makati High School during a turnover ceremony at City Hall on July 22, 2020.

They are among some 2,800 public school teachers in elementary (including kinder and SPED), junior and senior high school targeted as recipients of free laptops from the city government.

The mayor said the distribution of laptops is set to be completed by this October in time for World Teacher’s Day. Earlier, Mayor Abby vowed to equip both teachers and students of Makati’s public schools with the tools needed to be ready for the new normal when classes open for the coming school year. Aside from a learner’s package for every enrolee, the city will also provide free internet load worth five hours daily to both teachers and students of the city’s public schools from preschool to senior high school.
