#MNCAdvisory: Makati rerouting for foundation day parade, June 22

In observance of the 349th Foundation Day celebration of Makati, the city government will implement road closures and traffic rerouting schemes from June 21 (Friday) at 12:01 a.m. to June 23 (Sunday) at 12:01 p.m.

The whole stretch of Lawton Street will be closed to traffic from June 21 (Friday) at 12:01 a.m. to Sunday (June 23) at 12:01 p.m. (noon) to give way to the Grand Parade and Grand Salu-Salo.

The parade will be held on June 22 (Saturday) starting at 3 p.m. onwards at the Makati City Hall grounds from F. Zobel Street to Lawton Street.

Motorists are advised to take the following alternate routes:

Vehicles going to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) via Lawton Street (From East Rembo or West Rembo)

Along J.P. Rizal Street, turn left to Sgt. Fabian Yabut Street in Guadalupe Nuevo and head towards Kalayaan Avenue. From Kalayaan Avenue, make a U-Turn at the corner of Edsa-Kalayaan Avenue, then turn right to 32nd Street to destination.

Public Utility Vehicles going to Guadalupe Commercial Complex or Guada Mall (From J. P. Rizal Avenue Extension)

Along J.P. Rizal Avenue Extension, turn left to Kalayaan/Buting intersection then turn right to Sgt. Fabian Yabut Circle along Kalayaan Avenue to destination.

Private Vehicles going to EDSA

Along J.P. Rizal Avenue Extension, turn left to Kalayaan/Buting intersection then head straight to EDSA along Kalayaan Avenue. Turn right to EDSA if heading toward Cubao and turn left to Buendia-Kalayaan flyover if bound for Baclaran.

Private and Public Utility Vehicles going to Pasig or Pateros via Kalayaan Avenue

From EDSA, turn right to Kalayaan Avenue. Heavy traffic is expected before Lawton or Kalayaan intersection. A stop and go scheme will be implemented in the area.

Private and Public Utility Vehicles going to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) via Lawton Avenue

Along J.P. Rizal Avenue, turn right to West Cloverleaf, turn right to EDSA-southbound. From EDSA, turn left to Mckinley-Ayala Avenue intersection and head towards BGC or C5 Road to destination.

Private Vehicles coming from Mandaluyong City along EDSA going to Bonifacio Global City (BGC) via West Cloverleaf, J.P. Rizal, and Lawton Avenue

Head straight to EDSA/Ayala Avenue/McKinley intersection. Turn left to McKinley Street and head toward BGC area or C5 Road to destination.

Traffic enforcers will be deployed along Kalayaan Avenue and J.P. Rizal Extension to assist motorists and commuters.

Normal traffic flow will resume on June 23 (Sunday) at 12:01 p.m.
